1.9tdi seat alhambra 1999 Speedo

Hello, i own a 1.9tdi seat alhambra 1999 (v) , the speedometer has stopped working!
Can anyone tell me where abouts on the gearbox the speed sensor is located?
I have used a working instrument cluster from a friends car (same as mine!) which again does not work in my car!
So I'm assuming the culprit is the speed sensor
