In the last couple of days, when using the indicator stalk (for either left or right turns) the indicators cut out after just a few clicks. Sometimes it was OK but the problem is becoming steadily worse i.e. 2 - 3 flashes at most before it stops

Do I need to get a new flasher unit which I believe lives behind the hazard light button and is this a DIY job? Also, do I have to order a VW part or is there a generic part that will do?

Any advice much appreciated!
